I love Purple and Brown đŸ’œđŸ€Ž

Wherein Andy shares about ghosts, Nickelodeon, and post-apocalyptic cars.

Flip of the Week

Hi all!I love this ghost flipbook. It was made by stop-motion animator Carmen Bromfield-Mason. I worked with Carmen at Aardman during my brief stint on Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.

Pick of the Week

If you’ve never run across Rich Webber’s clay animation, then you’re in for a treat with this one! His animation is amazing and hilarious. Years ago he created the Purple and Brown series for Nickelodeon. This episode was one of my favorites from forever ago, and it still cracks me up. The way the characters laugh, and the chewing animation–it’s the best. Enjoy 😆

And in Other News

This has virtually nothing to do with animation, but my family and I have gotten really into this cool tabletop game lately called Gaslands. It’s awesome! It’s kind of like Warhammer but with post-apocalyptic Hot Wheels vehicles battling each other in death races. So, my son and I have been working on modifying our Hot Wheels cars the past couple weeks. Here’s my work-in-progress first vehicle. It’s a Frankensteined mashup of a Lamborghini Countach and a farm tractor. Next step is to prime it, then paint! Anyway if you’re into Hot Wheels, tabletop games, and post-apocalyptic stuff, Gaslands is worth checking out.

Until next week, stay creative!—Andy.

P.S. - My garage studio conversion is coming along great! I’ll share more next week. The paint color is called “Sophisticated Teal.” đŸŽ©
